anyway, the toilet has been particularly cranky lately and we'd had the top lid off of it waiting for Taylor to try the next part.. Megan was doing her business this evening and Mattie decided to assist her in speeding up the process by flushing for her. I was in the living room hanging with Keena and baby Chandler when I heard Megan yelling "Mom! Mom! come fast, Mattie did something terrible!!" and then I heard Mattie crying.. I ran as fast as I could up the stairs. As entered the bathroom I saw water......lots and lots of water spraying like a fountain from the back of the toilet..... Mattie was still crying so I quickly stepped toward him not realizing that the bathroom floor was already covered in water.. As I took a step my foot slipped on the puddle and my feet both flew out from under me.. I smashed my foot into the cabinet, Megan was still sitting on the toilet getting drenched, Mattie stood in the
corner asking "what happen?, what happen?" even though I could feel the throbbing pain in my foot the entire scene was so hilarious that I couldn't stop laughing I was laughing so hard that I could hardly get up to turn the water off from the tank.. Mattie didn't quite know what to take of the whole thing, but Megan joined in the laughter.. The entire bathroom was soaked!
check out my foot!!. I couldn't get a good picture of it, but it swelled up about an inch and a half, and now (a few hours later) its bruised all up the side, and top of my foot.. OUCH!
okay so.......
Prior to my Home run in the bathroom we had a pretty good day..
Taylor took a well deserved day off from the U to catch up on some rest and hang out with the family. Brooke spent the night as usual, and The girls spent quite a lot of their time working in their band room and practicing their performances..
The girls still had their "carpet" money burning a hole in their wallet, so we decided to take a trip to the thrift store to look for one. They actually found one, and its PERFECT! They spent their ten dollars and have money left to spend on other band related items. Its a little worn but fits the area perfectly and they both loved the bright orange color.
We had a great time just rummaging through the thrift store looking for treasures. I seriously love searching for great deals. I'm not as good as Megan , she's the Queen of thrifting, but I still love it.
I found Mattie this Awesome fisher price little people fun sounds garage. Its in Mint condition and for only $2 I'd have to say its easily one of the best DI finds of the year. Both Mathew and Megan have played with it for hours since we got home. I also found him this darling Cars chair for only a few dollars. He loves pushing it around and calling it Mater. silly boy.

Ali got these fun jelly shoes, and proved to Brooke (who has never been thrift store shopping in her life) that being cheap, is not so bad. besides saving money, and the environment Brooke was quite shocked that you can actually find Justice for girls , GAP, Gymboree, and Old Navy clothes for 2-3 dollars versus the 20-30 dollar prices in the store.. she kept saying "why would someone donate Justice clothes?" I thought it was quite funny... My girls have never thought twice about where we purchase things. We like all those name brands too, just at better prices.. I got Mattie the cutest little outfit that still had its original tags on it for 36 dollars and I spent a whopping $3. Nice! He's going to look darling tomorrow in it.
we also took quick trips to the Pet store for Bird toys, and to Barnes N Noble so that Ali could use a gift card that she's had for ages.

Ha Ha Ha ... that was pretty funny. It is a good thing that nothing bad really did happen because if you recall that regardless of all the ruckuss, I managed to not get off the couch ... bad Keena
It would have been so great to see a picture of the bathroom scene LOL. Sorry you hurt your foot but that is hillarious :-) Nice DI finds! I LOVE good deals!
I can hear your laughter as you skated through the bathroom. And, Jess, YOU are the queen of thrifting!! You always find TONS of good stuff.
