Down in the Gully

This afternoon we went down to the 'Gully' with Jeane and her grandsons.
We thought we'd take advantage of the warm weather because tomorrow we're supposed to dip back down in the 30's.The kids had a great time throwing sticks into the creek.

There is a park nearby and we took a little cracker eating, post balancing pit stop.

I can't say I'm looking forward to the cold weather. I'm not one for Snow unless I can afford to go Snowboarding.... ahhh snowboarding.. Taylor proposed to me while we were Snowboarding.........

anyway..
so I washed the girls hair and blow dried it out..
I think I was able to make Ali's not look so masculine......... I am terrible at doing hair but I think it looks better.......
Before ............................................and ..........................................After what do you think??

Fall

Today was a perfect day for raking leaves.
or Throwing them....

It was an incredibly beautiful Fall day today, warm weather, bright sun, blue sky, and Fall colors in every direction.
We spent some time over at Jeanne's house. A close neighbor who acts much like a grandmother to me and feels much like one too. She took me under her wing over 5 years ago when I moved into this neighborhood struggling as a single mother on my own. She sat with me at church every Sunday giving me the courage I needed to keep going back. She let me talk, and she listened. She did many things for me back then , and still does. We share stories, and News.
We walk the children to school each morning , her with her grandson, and Taylor or myself with our own. In the afternoon we walk again, an unspoken understanding that we wait for each other. Its comforting. she calls when things don't look right at our house.. An odd light on.. a strange car.. You might think it was a bit much, but It's not. Its proof that she is watching over us. Proof that she cares. I am so grateful to have her. She is a blessing in our lives.

Fall and No TV day 4?

Day 4 No TV.. No big deal. When I got home from work we went to my Parents to celebrate my Mom's birthday, then we came home and enjoyed dinner together with all 5 of us home (that doesn't happen often). We played games together before bed, and I got to catch Greys anatomy half way through.. Yeah!

Pumpkin Patch

We took a little trip to the Pumpkin patch because you know...
Its tradition!
Mattie thougt it was funny to peek through the pumpkin
Megan wanted a "Tiny baby one"

Ali picked a perfectly shaped medium sized pumpkin that was only 5 Dollars!!!!

(When I was 8 that pumpkin would have cost a quarter!)

(I used a little "old school" finish on this picture.. I like how it looks)
