See the little note at the top from her teacher? It says "I can tell it was a bad day"
What's funny about that comment is that she was so right, yet not quite how she probably imagined. Megan has had a hard time with homework for awhile now. Not that it's too hard for her, but that she has better things to do. Her teacher and I have worked out a system where I write in her planner the days that she does her homework without complaining, and in turn she gets an extra stamp on her sheet in class.

This particular evening she was especially cranky and pouting on the stairs when I asked her to do her work. I knew nothing would get accomplished until she changed her mood so into the kitchen I went and returned to the stairs with a pair of kitchen tongs in my hand. As she was holding the paper in her lap whining, I snatched the paper away with the tongs and did a little victory dance for her with it waving in the air. She laughed (good, it was working). We continued to play the game back and forth, (me catching the paper with the tongs, while she tried to throw it out of my reach ) until we were giggling so hard Ali and Mattie had to come see what the commotion was all about. Meg said, "see mom, this is what I love with you. Can we do this Every day?". She went on to do her homework happily and for the rest of the night she didn't pout. I realized that Meg often does things for attention we all know it, But Who's fault is that? I'm focusing on giving her just a little more one on one time each day and in turn giving her the opportunity to get the positive attention she deserves.
We both laughed when we read the note her teacher had written on her paper.
