Berries, Hairplanes, and toofers.

I stuck frozen berries in the old Mesh baby feeder we have. Mathew LOVED it, he came back 4 times for more.
Mathew has a toy airplane that has a little propeller on the back that spins like a fan. Ali came down stairs this evening holding it to her head.. Confused I asked what was wrong. With big tears sliding down her cheeks she lifted her hand to reveal that her hair was wound tightly around the toy spinner. I tried really hard not to laugh, while I asked her what in heavens name she was doing to get it stuck in there. She was so distraught that she couldn’t even answer me.. I finally convinced her to let me take a look. It was bad! Knowing I'd have to cut it out, I thought maybe if I pulled a bit on the airplane I'd be able to unravel a bit and hopefully have less of her hair to cut. Perhaps I pulled a little harder than I should have because before I knew it, the airplane and a GIANT chunk of Ali’s hair lay gripped between my fingers no longer attached to her head! I was quite surprised, because honestly I didn’t think I pulled that hard. I think (or at least I hope) that it was wound so tightly and had already detached from her scalp, because I feel awful. Ali is DEVASTATED! She’s’ been crying about it intermittently now for the last 3 hours. As if I didn’t feel bad enough.

She has a dime size bald spot on the top of her head, (thankfully out of sight) and Taylor and I have been playing it lightly. She's not convinced but we're trying.

Is it okay for me to tell her to “get over it” yet? I mean honestly three hours ? She's the QUEEN of drama!

So While Ali’s been crying over her lost hair, Megan’s been working fervently deliberately detaching her front tooth. It took her a few hours but she did it.. She’s so proud of herself.. And I must say, her missing tooth, looks quite adorable especially compared to Ali’s missing hair which doesn’t look so, well, adorable…… but Shhhh we won’t tell her that.
