Artificial pollination

Our Zucchini plants have grown to an impressive size , taking over quite well, their half of the garden. However we've been very frustrated to find that their has been nothing to show for their greatness. I did a little research and found that Cell phone frequencies are to blame for our lack of fruit.
How you ask?
I'll explain: Their is a shortage, apparently, of Bees to assist in the pollination process of zucchini (and or other produce)production. According to my studies the theory is that cell phone frequencies are interfering with Bees being able to find their hives, and therefore dying off in large numbers.
I learned way more than I ever thought I needed to know about the process that is required to make a garden work. All very interesting I assure you.
Did you know that their are "boy" and "girl" blooms? with actually "boy" and "girl" parts?.......... The boy blooms grow big and wide inviting the helpful little bumble bee into its center (which coincidentally looks like a boy's you know what)where it picks up the essential goods that will then pollinate the "girl" bloom (which also resemble , well... kind of.....) so that it will produce fruit. If the girl doesn't get its goodness then it will simply fall off and "abort" itself. Resulting in..... No fruit..
So then I researched a little further and found that the answer to the Bee shortage is to artificial inseminate the "girl" blooms by hand. I took notes, and made sure I had all the information I needed to do it just right.
I went to my garden in the early morning hour when the blooms are more likely to be wide open. This is what I found.......................

It was very easy to distinguish the boy and girl blooms and I was quite disappointed to find that although the boys were ready and willing, the girls were being quite prude. I tried to convince the girls of how wonderful it is to bear the fruits of our labors, but they wouldn't listen. My job was to use a q-tip and transfer the pollen over. I think I needed something equivalent to a speculum for Flowers though because it was nearly impossible to get where I needed to go.

Hopefully I succeeded in a least a few successful insemination's.

Only time will tell.

I still think it's funny that you call your plant a prude.
