Last week Megan went to Wheeler farm with her Kindergarten class. I didn’t get to go because I was at work, but my friend took some cute pictures of her..

After school We were walking home and Megan very matter of fact said “I‘m not scared if people know I pee my pants”,I cringed a little thinking back to the conversation we had months ago where she feared her friends making fun of her..“oh yeah?”I encouraged. “yeah, I ‘m not scared to tell them, they won’t make fun of me” She said.
“oh. …. (Wondering what to say next)…. Who did you tell?”
“lots of people, even Jack”.
I thought silently about it for a moment. All these fears rushed into my mind. Sure they could accept it now, but what about next year, would they taunt her then?
And Dang, this girl of mine is so unpredictable!
She was so matter of fact about it.. Like all that worry months ago was for nothing because she didn’t even care! I don’t think I’m happy with the fact that she told her ‘friends’ but I’m glad that she’s confident enough to not worry about it…
I decided to change the subject.I reminded her that her Dad would be picking her and Ali up for the night. She made a comment about “sometimes missing her dad” and I told her that I understood and that it was hard sometimes. She went on to tell me that when she’s with her Dad she misses me, and when she’s with me she misses her Dad, and that “it’s kind of weird" she said," It's like I love him more or something, cuz I miss him more” I have to admit it felt like a dagger to the heart, but then I reminded myself that she was six and sometimes she says things that she doesn't really have full understanding of. I mean obviously she misses him more often, she sees him less right? That doesn't mean she loves me any less. . After all, last summer I was told that she cried numerous times to come home when she was with them because she missed me. Validation, Validation.. My Baby loves me right?
.She's also a little story teller.... just yesterday she had everyone believing that the President had come to her classroom and she was going to be on the News... the President really was in the state and she was very convincing. We all questioned her over and over again and she played it out all day long! She likes to play off of people.. I think she was playing off me with the whole love thing, so I stayed very neutral. I said "that IS interesting” and "aren't you lucky you get to spend time with BOTH of us?" 2.5 minutes later she was off onto a different subject but it took me hours to shake her little voice in my head saying "It's like I love him more or something".
.The girls went with Ex’s family to the annual Special Olympics meet down in Provo . (Ex’s Brother has Down’s syndrome.)

Mattie was not feeling well again.
He still wasn’t quite over his stomach bug completely and decided to add some respiratory crud to the mix. By 5 o’clock he had a temperature of a 103.4 , was lethargic and coughing pretty hard. We took him to the Dr and after listening to his chest decided to give him an albuterol treatment.. Before the treatment his respiratory rate was 57, he was wheezing mildly and he was breathing so hard his lungs were pulling up under his ribs (which is called retracting). After the treatment his rate went down to 40 and he wasn’t wheezing or retracting anymore, so that was a good sign. The Dr wasn’t worried about his temperature although I was. We went home with instructions to give him treatments every 2-3 hours as he needed. I’ve been through this before with the girls so I knew what to do, but Matt fought it harder than either of the girls ever did. Poor Baby.
His fever finally broke by morning and he seemed to be feeling much better.

SaturdayThe girls were still away with their Dad and Taylor was at work. I was all set to have a quiet day taking care of my sick boy. Craig and Merry called and insisted that they still wanted to take him like they have been every saturday regardless of his illness and arrived at my door step around 10. I agreed that because he seemed to be feeling much better they could take him a few short hours as long as he was home for naptime. It felt funny knowing that I had nothing to do, So they invited me along. We took a drive up Big cottonwood canyon.. It was beautiful, Merry had Not been up the canyon since they'd moved here.. We stopped and let Mattie and Lucas play around the rocks for a bit. I LOVED sitting in the Sunshine. I mentioned that I was in the market for a new entertainment center as our current one was ready to fall apart at any moment and before I knew it, we were on our way to IKEA..
3 hours later we were driving home with a brand new set up for my family room.It was a fun day, and although I felt a little guilty for taking Mattie out while he was not up to par, he did great hardly complaining as long as he was snug in my arms.
.
Saturday night the girls came home. We made cookies and the girls ran around noisily burning off all the sugar they'd eaten. Before long they were fighting like cats and dogs, so I sent them to bed.
.
Sunday
Mattie was still coughing pretty fiercely so I sent the girls to Church with my neighbor We hung out quietly while the house was empty.
After a good nap for Mathew we went to my parents house for a BBQ.
Craig's boys were already in the pool when we got there and the girls were not far behind them. They spent a couple hours splashing around and didn't seem to notice that the water was a mere 50 degrees!Craig and Merry knew that my back was killing me from toting Mathew around all day Saturday so they gave me a very much needed break.
He has got the worst attachment issues!
I had to hide completely from him inside so that he wouldn't cry for me.
.
Craig had promised to put together my new IKEA stuff for me because Taylor was at work, so after swimming and eating we all headed over to my house. The kids played outside while we put it all together. it was SO easy, and it is just beautiful!
What we didn't anticipate is that the new entertainment center would be designed to easily fit what most people these days have which is a flat screen TV.. well, we're still of the old school television era with means that the 15 inch deep console will not hold our TV which is 19 inches wide front to back.. Its too beautiful to take back, so we are going to play it poor like, and leave the TV on the floor until we can afford a new Television.. (which will most likely be Christmas) Isn't that great? Honestly the New set up is so pretty I could really care less where the TV is!
I am thinking that we might be able to get away with a wall mount to hold the TV in that space. I measured the space and it would allow for it. It just depends on how tacky it looks.. I'm determined to make it work though.
All in all a good weekend other than Matties poor cough. He seems to be doing much better.. hopefully we can get over all this sickness and be done with it all.
