Birthday's and Mothers day

This is a busy weekend for us. Yesterday was Ali's 9th Birthday.

It was her Dad's weekend so we let her open her presents on Friday before he picked her up. I was a little sad that she wasn't here for her real birthday, but We'll be celebrating enough to make up for it.

Today is My Birthday.

Its also Mother's day.

(for anyone who doesn't know this already!).

I went into labor with Ali on Mothers day. I was glad she was born the day before my Birthday so that She would always have her own spotlight. It always ends up that we do a combined celebration anyway, but being an Adult, I have to say Birthdays are not really a big deal for me anymore. So I try to focus on Ali.

Today has been great. Mattie slept in till 9 this morning (So Taylor and I got to as well).

The girls arrived home around 9:30 and we had a wonderful breakfast.

My Neighbor Jeane made me sour dough waffle batter (so Delicious!).

Taylor has been doing some promised projects in the house for me today, which has got to be the best present he could give me. I'm finally getting the fan light installed in our bedroom after begging for an entire year!

in a little while we'll be heading to my parents house for a BBQ.

I'm excited to give my Mom her mothers day present.. I didn't want to post a picture of it before I'd given it to her because I want to surprise her. It turned out really cute..

Another fun part about my birthday...

when I was pregnant with Megan 6 years ago I was due the beginning of May. I knew that her name would be Megan and my Friend MEGAN and I joked that it would be so funny if she was actually born on MEGAN'S birthday April 24th. When I delivered her at 10 pm, the first person I called was MEGAN to let her know that I'd done it. It was so fun and so fitting..

Then a year later when MEGAN was pregnant with MIA, we joked that it would be just perfect if Mia was born on MY birthday. Well imagine how excited we were when shortly before Midnight MEGAN gave birth to a healthy baby girl on MAY 11th... MY birthday!

so Happy Birthday to you too Mia. I hope you have a wonderful 5th birthday.
