Fairies

We've always had a fondness for Fairies, pixies and the like around here.

The girls worked hard to build them a magical home in our backyard. I think they did beautifully.

When I showed Meg the pictures she was so excited, and believed with all her heart that these were real. She took my camera back out to take some more of her own. She thinks they are "frost fairies" and when she woke up this morning to a frosty front lawn she excitedly informed us that they'd been here again.

catching up....... via pictures.

Just what you wanted to see...
Taylor and I smooching!
and right in front of the kids too!
Scandalous!
I love my honey Taylor!

My Ali girl...Its been a pretty big week for her. she got her first.......well.......shall we call it "training wear". Not that she really needs it, but it makes her feel more comfortable..
Last week I think we also started our first round of hormone changes.. She pretty much cried for 5 days straight. We had a pretty rocky time at it. I tried really really hard to be patient with her but I tell you its really hard not to get frustrated at your child when she melts down because you asked her to get her shoes on. I bought her some more American girl books about emotions along with a journal. We did a LOT of talking and she was able to unload a lot of things that have been weighing on her mind too... she seems to be doing alot better now.. Thank goodness.

Tonight I made cookies...
....

Mattie enjoyed them too

Until peeling the paper off the crayons became more interesting.

And look how dang domestic I am! We found Megan a really cute baby doll at DI the other day for 2$. I googled her because she looked really well made, and it turns out she's a 60 dollar doll! Apparently this meant that her dolly deserved royal treatment, and Megan begged me to make her a softer mattress for her crib set.
I bought fabric, and went to work. I even made a pillow to match quite to Megan's delight. she has requested a matching blanket too.
That one might take me awhile..

a few cute Mattie quips for my own records...

the other day Mattie came to me asking for more of what he was snacking on. He surprised me by signing "more" over and over again while he was asking. I thought he'd forgotten all those old signs. It was very cute to see him do it again.

and one more

We built a fire in the fireplace last week. Mattie enjoyed watching the flames and every time he'd point it out to us he'd say excitedly "look!, Birthday!"
